Our parish is very beautiful with a backdrop of wooded hills, small fields and lovely rivers and brooks. Dormington is an ancient farming community 5 miles east of Hereford renowned for hop growing. Its church is famous for the its knocker, and beautiful stained glass. In the Domesday book it was listed as a settlement of two households, with one smallholder and a slave.
Mordiford is a village on the B4224 4 miles east south east of the city of Hereford. This village grew up around an ancient ford over the River Lugg and has a school, church and pub and the wonder Mordiford Loop walk and the shorter Mordiford Dragon Walk.
Checkley is a scattered hamlet, famous for its tiny orchards, its wild flowers, and St Nicholas Church.
Priors Frome and Sufton are also ancient hamlets recorded in Domesday.
